Political Parties
Below are the different political parties currently active and a condensed version of their objectives regarding the current crisis.
-
Costa Cálida
The campsite's official management company.
They intend to implement the different regional laws and regulations which the council demand they follow, as well as the site's own Internal Administrative Regulation.
This means they disagree with second storeys, roof terraces, brick buildings, steel roofs, or any other kind of permanent structure.
Therefore, they advocate for the strictest set of rules.
In their view, not making these changes will result in the council shutting the whole site down.

The Owners Association (Asociación de Vecinos)
Founded in 2002, they fight for the private owners' interests where safety, security and transparency are concerned.
They are very much aware of the council's involvement with our estate, and they believe certain changes must take place.
They base their rules on their interpretation of the Internal Administrative Regulation.
This is the second strictest set of rules.
Together with the site administrator they want to remove second storeys and roof terraces, although they also don't agree with permanent brick and mortar buildings, nor people who didn't respect their property boundaries.

Any private owner can join, but there may be a small membership fee.
They have members in their group who speak English and German, in case you have questions or wish for them to represent you at meetings.

The Yo Opino group
The most recently formed group, which came to be as a result of several owner's beliefs that neither the site administration nor the Owners Association have the authority to demand that anyone remove anything on their own property.
They will only make alterations to their homes if asked to do so directly by the council; otherwise everything stays as it currently is.
It was made very clear that they do NOT intend to fight the council, however.
Contact: You can ask to join their group by sending a WhatsApp message to the following number: (0034) 666 59 33 60
Our group isn't listed because we don't have a specific political agenda, other than keeping people informed.
Members of our group are welcome to join any other group and vote for whichever option they think is best, or not vote at all.
