Rules

A. Basic rules

The groups purpose is to gather and share useful, verifiable information - in theory it shouldn't be hard to keep this project running.
However, with different members breaking various rules time after time it was ultimately proposed to allow only members with the "Admin" rank to post, seeing as they are the ones gathering and verifying the data to begin with.
On 09/11/2022 it was put to vote, and over half of our members chose to accept this policy thereby giving up their own right to post.
If one of our members has a question or wishes to share a relevant document or event, they must contact one of the Admins, who may then make an announcement on the group for everyone's benefit.
Below are the rules for contacting an Admin:

  1. Don't knock on my door. Don't knock on my neighbours door. Don't knock on my friends' doors. If you wish to contact me or join the group, you'll have ask someone who's already a member to pass on your request. I have to make it very clear that I'm not getting paid to do this, and in fact it's robbing me of my time.
  2. We don't have to publish what you send us. We filter out information we believe is not appropriate for the group, and we certainly don't want to publish misinformation.
  3. Don't send any messages after 20:00pm or before 10:00am.
  4. Don't use vulgar language. Don't state opinion as fact. Don't argue with the admins.
  5. It is forbidden to advertise any political party or movement, product or service.

Not following these rules may result in you being removed from the WhatsApp group.

B. What you may and should post

  1. Any publication from a verified authority. This means the site management, the owners association, newspaper articles and reports from any kind of qualified specialist (solicitor, engineer, architect, etc) familiar with Spanish laws and regulations.
  2. Any kind of question related to the current situation. We'll do our best to pass it onto management when we contact them.
  3. Any event you witness that may indicate further council action. For example, if you notice people with clipboards walking around or if the road is suddenly being dug up.

C. What you shouldn't post

  1. Rumours you've heard from individuals or from Facebook. What you hear down the bottom restaurant on a Friday night can be absolute rubbish, and shouldn't be shared with anyone.
  2. Any kind of complaint or question that's not related to the situation involving the council. Property border disputes, neighbourly arguments, messy dogs, vermin infestations and gardening requests all have to be taken directly to reception; it's nothing to do with this group.
  3. Jokes, funny pictures, pointless banter. For many of us our one and only home is at stake, and this is a very serious issue that needs to be taken very seriously.
