This website was set up to complement the now defunct Caravaning Information WhatsApp group.
The group was originally created in response to the council's involvement with the Caravaning La Manga (or Villas Caravaning) campsite in 2022 and was used to keep members informed of important events, until the group ceased to exist in 2026 as both founding members had moved to live somewhere else.
As of September 2026, nearly all of the campsite's facilities have been shut down and there is no clear picture of what will happen to the hundreds of families still living on the estate.
The floods, fires, crime, lack of facilities, complicated internal politics and the very worrying uncertainty of what's to come - added to a Council that will only make a minimal amount of effort when the campsite is on the brink of closure - make it an undesireable place to live for many.
